Same MangoMap. New engine.
Everything you use today, faster and more reliable. This is the runway, not the finish line.
The goal
For most of you, v4 should be a quiet release. The tools you know are still here. Your maps still open. Your workflows haven't shifted.
What's different sits under the surface. The rendering engine, the data pipeline, the infrastructure — all rebuilt from scratch. The effort of keeping the old platform running was the same effort we needed to grow. So we stopped, and we rebuilt.
Nothing changes. Everything is better. This is where it starts.
Faster
Maps open instantly. Pan and zoom stay smooth on datasets that used to stutter. Every edit you make lands the moment you make it — no save-and-reload, no waiting for the page to come back.
Uploads finish in seconds, not minutes. Processing keeps pace with you, so you stay on the page instead of switching tabs.
Everything is lightning fast.
More reliable
If we have a bad day, you don't. The infrastructure has no single point of failure — every piece scales on its own, and every piece can fail without taking down its neighbours.
One account's heaviest workload doesn't touch another's maps. Traffic spikes don't slow anyone down. Everyone runs in their own lane.
Built for stability. Built for scale.
Everything you already had
Your data, any format.
Shapefile, GeoJSON, KML, CSV, MapInfo TAB, ESRI File GeoDatabase, GeoTIFF. Plus any OGC WMS service. Drop it in. No conversion step.
Styling that does the work.
Sixteen visualisation styles across points, lines, polygons, heatmaps, and rasters. Jenks, Equal Interval, Quantile, Head/Tails, and Manual classification. Custom marker icons. Attribute-driven labels with halos.
Popups that explain themselves.
Rich-text templates with charts, images, tables, and calculator forms. Field-level formatting for currency, measurements, dates, and numbers.
Analysis in the browser.
Spatial Query with 14 relations. Proximity Analysis. Advanced Search with AND/OR logic. Named queries, saved per map. Export in six formats.
Sharing that's just a link.
Public, standalone, hidden, or password-protected. Embeddable iframes. Deep links to specific features. Named bookmarks. Group-based permissions.
White-label to the roots.
Custom domain, custom theme, custom navigation. Remove MangoMap branding entirely if you want.
What the rewrite bought us
Rebuilding wasn't the goal. Being able to move again was the goal.
For years, everything we wanted to ship sat behind the cost of shipping it on the old platform. That cost is gone.
The rewrite is the beginning. A long roadmap of new capabilities is already in flight — and for the first time in a long time, the shipping rate isn't the problem.
Existing customers
You don't need to do anything. Accounts, data, and maps are migrating on a rolling schedule. Existing URLs keep working. Branding, permissions, and settings come across as-is.
We'll be in touch before your account moves.
Thank you
MangoMap is a small, bootstrapped company. We're never going to ship at the pace of a venture-backed startup, and we've stopped pretending otherwise. What we can do is build carefully, listen when you write in, and still be here in ten years.
The rewrite took longer than anyone wanted — us included. The customers who stayed through it didn't have to. Some of you have been with us for more than a decade. That patience isn't forgotten, and it isn't taken for granted. v4 exists because you kept trusting us to get it right.
We're here for the long haul. Thank you for being here with us.
